Recommendations to Enjoy Salobreña
Recommendations to Enjoy Salobreña
EAT AND TAPAS IN THE OLD TOWN
Restaurants within a 5-minute walk, all with excellent service, prices around €30 without wine. They usually rest on different days, so it's good to check if they are open before going.
- La Botica: Very good rice dishes, fish, meat, and tuna tartare. You can have tapas at the high tables outside. It has a terrace in the square and another inside overlooking the town.
- La Roka: Creative cuisine, the most famous one, and sometimes it's hard to get a reservation. Pleasant terrace with views of the sea towards Almuñécar, although it gets very sunny in summer.
- Pesetas: Good food and also the possibility of having tapas at the bar downstairs or on the street. It has a nice terrace with views similar to Casa Alfar, as it is 20 meters away.
- Martín: Daily menu for €9.50 plus drinks. Good portions and a very pleasant terrace to eat or have tapas on the busy street that leads out of the historic center by car.
- La Traviesa: Delicious food on a terrace with mountain views. Very tasty international dishes. On Mondays, there is free FLAMENCO during dinner, only paying for the food.
Bars in the lower part of the town
- Mesón de la Villa: Good portions for less than €20/person. It has a nice terrace.
- Bar Cuesta: The best place to have a wine and good tapas. It's small and has no terrace.
- Pizzería Voy Volando: They only work at night, but they deliver pizza to your home, and they are very good.
- Aráis: A good place to eat and especially to have a drink at a good price inside or on the terrace. The owners are the same as those of Mondero rum, which can be tasted and bought at the place.
- Café Viena: For breakfast, with good toasts.
- Cafetería del mercado: For chocolate with churros.
EAT AND TAPAS ON THE BEACH OR SURROUNDINGS
Restaurants and beach bars on Salobreña's beach:
- Casa Emilio: Menu for €15 plus drinks, with interesting options like migas with sardines. Good rice dishes for less than €30 per person.
- La Bahía: It has two menus, one typical with portions, meats, and fish, and another with pizzas. When everything is full, it's a good place where you might get a table, as it's the largest of all. It's very well located in front of the rock. The food is very good. From €20 to €50.
- Verdejo: The most exclusive food, with very rich dishes and good ingredients. It also has a good wine cellar. Average price of around €50.
- El Peñón: The food is good, and the location is the best on the beach, but when it's full, it's very noisy, and the tables are very close together. Between €30 and €50.
- Burger Lover: They have an award for the best burger in Spain, and they are very tasty, in general, as well as their potatoes. Price above €20.
- Simbioremolque Queen Bee: For a tasty and cheaper burger on a terrace.
- Habana Café: The best place for breakfast, without a doubt, with a wide variety of breads, milk, and ingredients. Even if there's a line, it doesn't take long to get a seat because there's a lot of turnover.
- Heladería Italiana or Perandrés: Have a "leche rizada" (milkshake) at either of them.
Restaurants in La Caleta
- Hotel Miba: Ideal at night if you get one of the few tables on the terrace or dine at the skybar. Very tasty creative cuisine. Between €30 and €50.
- Bar Manolo: The best tapas and the best rice in front of the beach. The problem is reserving, as they usually don't answer the phone, so it's better to go in person and reserve in advance. €20 to €30 per person.
- Bar Rufino: Good portions and usually very crowded. Good price, around €20-25.
